During our initial assessment, our conservators examine the painting’s support (canvas, panel, mural), paint layers and frame to identify any structural issues, surface deterioration or previous interventions. We document condition with high-resolution photography and write a treatment proposal that outlines recommended actions, expected time-frame and budget.
